Meet our TeamÂ
Passionate about community development, Myriam has spent over 20 years supporting high impact philanthropic and community initiatives.
​
Previously Director for Quebec and Francophone Communities at the Tamarack Institute (2021 to 2024), Myriam led major mandates for public funders such as the Public Health Agency of Canada and Employment and Social Development Canada, philanthropic foundations like the WES Mariam Assefa Fund, and community funding networks including Refugee 613. Her approach focuses on trust based philanthropy, collaborative governance, community mobilization, and capacity building for nonprofits. She remains affiliated with the Tamarack Institute, regularly collaborating with them to adapt tools and workshops for Francophone contexts.

From 2015 to 2021, Myriam directed the Collective Impact Project (CIP) at Centraide of Greater Montreal, a 25 million dollar multi year philanthropic collaboration aimed at reducing poverty across priority neighborhoods. Backed by a strategic alliance of nine major private foundations alongside public and community partners, this innovative initiative allowed her to build deep expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating funding processes, managing complex partnerships, and engaging diverse stakeholders around citywide change.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Development from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Migration Studies and Intercultural Relations from the University of Amsterdam.

Convinced that local and collaborative approaches are essential to solving complex social and environmental issues, Jean-Marie leverages his experience and passion to support participatory, innovative initiatives in social impact measurement and philanthropic strategy.

Previously Director of Impact Evaluation at the Tamarack Institute, Jean-Marie has guided numerous changemakers in building their capacity for evaluation and strategic learning. As an Associate Consultant with Tamarack, he continues to collaborate with the Institute, contributing to the evolution of the field of impact evaluation.
​
Throughout his career, Jean-Marie has delivered extensive training, coaching, and strategic consulting to organizations, networks, and municipalities across Quebec, Canada, and the United States. Trained in evaluation within Indigenous contexts by Johnston Research, he has also supported collectives in embedding equity and inclusion into their evaluation strategies.
​
Jean-Marie also worked for many years in the philanthropic sector, managing and funding innovative capacity building strategies for community organizations in partnership with several renowned training resources.
​
Holding degrees in urban planning and organizational management, Jean-Marie shaped the Montreal landscape by launching the city’s first urban agriculture initiatives in the early 2000s, following a career in strategic consulting and foresight in France.
